Chapter 3 takes you into the series of World War I galleries, covering Australia’s war commitments from September 1914 in New Guinea to Armistice Day in Palestine and on the Western Front on 11 November 1918.  Examples of the rich display of relics, artifacts and works of art are described, including the wider context of the particular action portrayed.  On a successful visit you will find yourself empathising with the young Australians as you see evidence of how they lived, fought and, too often, suffered and died.
